I have had the opportunity to witness the ways in which her words speak truth to power as both a poetess and practitioner. While collaborating with Shyy as a facilitator I have always been so inspired by how much care and intentionality goes into the creation of transformative circles of radical love and revolutionary change.

Building Curriculum

I develop curricula to decolonize classrooms + school boards. My work creates space to explore themes of social justice, art-based activism and storytelling as tools to teach resistance, nurture self-expression and advance emotional intelligence.

These are carefully curated, informed + intersectional arts-centred programs, that bridge the gap between information lost along the middle passage, stories stolen from Indigenous lands + art remembered in the DNA of the students and educators.

What this can look like in your classroom:

  • After-school learning programs

  • Developed curricula + manuals for your educators

  • Social justice clubs

  • Drama & creative arts classes

All taught through an intersectional framework

Bearing witness to Shiann and her work - you’ll never regret it! Hire her, every time!
— Levyi-Alexander Love, Founder of The UnObscured Community
Shiann always kept students engaged by using poetry and arts in her lessons. She managed to facilitate classes about social justice by encouraging expression. Students in her class were given a voice to share their opinions and ideas for solutions to the social justice issues in their communities. Taking an expressive approach to this program allowed for differentiated instruction and provided a safe space for everyone to share their thoughts.

I haven’t had the opportunity to work with Sincerely Shyy as much as I would like, but I can definitely speak to her ability to mesmerize an audience and have them hanging off of her words. Her vulnerability and honesty are beautiful, and give people permission to feel and truly experience a moment with her.
