Birth Work

This is community healing. This work is Sacred.

Why our birth matters

Did you know that Black women are 4 times more likely to die during pregnancy or childbirth than white women?

Or that infant mortality is 2.3x higher for black babies than white babies? Did you know that Indigenous women are 2.3 times more likely to die than white birthers; in urban settings, they are 4.5 times more likely to die?

If you’re Black and/or Indigenous, the reality is that you probably already knew that. You most likely have experienced, witnessed and know of many accounts of heartbreaking disparities and harmful experiences in the health industry. Black + Indigenous birth workers + doulas are fundamental in closing that gap. Click here to register for our 2024 CBE Program.

A summoning of MOTHER-TONGUE

The Coven is a collective for Black birth workers, storytellers, midwives + doulas who wish to explore themes of social justice, connection to the land and cultural ways of healing. We fuse African Drum, spoken word + the art of twerk to unearth your mother tongue while exploring the effects of colonization on Black birth work, family dynamic + womb wellness and healing.

Our 12-week online Childbirth Education Program provides education around
